This is more or a less an ongoing personal project. Together with a jewelry store I’m looking at the possibilities to 3D print designs to speedup and improve complex productions. Currently we’re having difficulty getting it actually 3D printed but this seems to be caused by either the slicing software or printer firmware. Down below you see the first design I created. The idea was a simple but convincing twig as a ring. Organic shapes are hard and time consuming to make for a jeweller. However, with ZBrush it is rather easy to make these organic designs. For this design I created a alpha from a picture of twig, extruded this in ZBrush and sculpted it by hand until it looked like a proper twig.
